Research
was developed as part of academic research exploring the use of language models for dialogue writing in video games. While this is an area of growing interest for many, there is very little software from the research community that makes exploring new techniques in commercial games viable. Rather, there are many for-profit corporations exploring this area, but they do not publish open research.
Developing enabled our research exploring GPT-4 generated dialogue in Disco Elysium: The Final Cut. The associated research paper was submitted for review at EMNLP 2023 and was subsequently accepted to the Findings of EMNLP 2023.

Future Directions
Currently, is primarily written with Disco Elysium: The Final Cut in mind, but as the game is built on the use of articy: draft and Pixel Crushers Dialogue System, it should be possible to adapt it to other games built with those systems as well.
Reviews
EMNLP 2023 used the OpenReview platform for reviews. The reviews for all accepted papers have been made public. This is important for open science.
